WYSE Week is the annual celebration of WYSE's mission. It inspires mentors and mentees across our branches nationwide to take community action. In the 2021-2022 program year, WYSE branches celebrated WYSE Week with the theme "Oh, The Places We'll Go!"
Oh, The Places We'll Go!
We selected this theme to celebrate the life and future that WYSE helps create for mentees and mentors. WYSE week is about appreciating the accomplishments and future endeavors of mentors and mentees alike.
Throughout the week of April 11th, branches had various celebrations and the week ended with a WYSE Alumni Career Panel held virtually for branch mentors and alumni to watch nationwide.
Here are some highlights from WYSE Week!
"UCLA participated in WYSE week by creating a career and college site with our mentees at both our schools:Mark Twain Middle School and Francisco Sepulveda Middle School. We focused on college and explaining possible career paths and how they can correspond to a major. Our mentors split into groups based on majors, and we had our mentees rotate from group to group. We had a quick Q&A with each new group. Our mentors and mentees also emphasized how it is okay not to know exactly what you want to do, and we all talked about ways to figure out things you might be interested in."

"We had our last day party and wrote compliments about each other. [We also] asked the mentees what they wanted to do in high school and if they were excited for this new chapter in their lives!"
- Marquette WYSE Branch
Our virtual alumni career panel included professional women and WYSE alumnae from Marquette University, University of Southern California, and University of California, Irvine. If you are interested in watching the recap, send an email to: info@wyse.org!
