If you are passionate about creating positive changes in all our nation's communities, join and extend the WYSE national movement to strengthen women and girls' lives and their communities by starting a WYSE branch!

For undergraduate and graduate college students:
If your college/university does not have a WYSE program, why not start one!

First, please be sure you meet the following requirements for starting a new branch:
  1. You believe in WYSE's mission, vision and goals.
  2. You have a heartfelt desire to be a strong female role model to a middle/high school girl.
  3. You have a heartfelt desire to make a positive impact in your/a low-income community.
  4. You are comfortable both leading and working as a team with an organization of peers.
  5. You are comfortable leading and working as a team with middle/high school girls.
  6. You have at least one full year of remaining coursework.
  7. You are able to attend the next WYSE National Leadership Training Conference.
  8. You are able to devote five to ten hours a week to the WYSE branch during the academic year.

    Preferred, but not required:

  9. You are a woman of color.
  10. You have not been in other than good standing because of academic deficiencies or misconduct at your college/university.
  11. You have not been convicted of, or have a charge pending against you for any crime other than a traffic violation.

For teachers, administrators, middle/high school girls, and parents of middle/high school girls:
If your middle/high school does not have a WYSE program consider making it a part of your after school programs!

First, be sure your meet the following requirements for having the program at your school:
  1. You believe in WYSE's mission, vision and goals.
  2. Your school's administration believes in WYSE's mission, vision and goals.
  3. You are comfortable working with and taking direction from college aged women.
  4. Your school is located in a predominantly low-income community of color where over 50% of the students are eligible for free or reduced priced lunch (This information can be accessed at www.greatschools.net).
  5. Your school is able to provide a consistent space that holds at least thirty adults, can provide access to a TV/VCR, and appoint a reliable faculty/staff member to act as a liaison between the program and your school.
