Join the WYSE Womyn Network (WWN)
If you are a professional woman who would like to be a mentor, but doesn't have a lot of time on her hands, consider joining the WYSE Womyn Network by completing and submitting an application. The WYSE Womyn Network is WYSE's newest initiative. Its goal is to connect our WYSE college mentors with a powerful network of resources, support, advice and opportunities as they transition into the workforce.
Our Network Mentors are diverse, professional women from fields including law, medicine, government, education, public relations and the nonprofit sector. They advance the WYSE mission by exemplifying ways that our college mentors can continue to expand opportunities for women and girls beyond their college years in whatever profession they choose.
As a WWN Mentor, you will be asked to call or email a college mentee at least once a month; to see your mentee at least once every three months; and to introduce your mentee to your profession as well as to at least one other professional woman in the field of your mentee's interest during one year.
Join a WYSE Committee
Join one of our WYSE board sub-committees and provide important resources and support to our programs, as well as our annual National Leadership Training Conference and Role Model of the Year Awards Luncheon. Existing and developing committees include,
- WYSE Legal Task Force: Law professionals who provide legal advice and lend their expertise on legal issues.
- WYSE Event Planning Committee: Community individuals who lend their skills, experiences and expertise for special events.
- WYSE Alumni Affairs Committee: WYSE Alumni and community members who locate and connect alumni across the country, keep them aware of current issues affecting women, and job/volunteer opportunities within WYSE and other women-centered organizations through the internet. They also cultivate alumni for involvement and support by creating and hosting events around women's issues.
Host a WYSE Gathering
Help raise awareness of WYSE in your community by hosting a gathering where people can meet others who share their interests and ideals, learn about the issues women and girls face and have an opportunity to show their support for WYSE.
If you would like more information on these involvement opportunities, or would like to customize your own involvement opportunity, please call us at (714) 390-8363.
